FILESOFT RECURRING TASKS 0.1.1
Editable teaching example — local article review

Create missing tasks from fixed recurring schedules. This is a single-user,
manually run teaching file for FileMaker Pro on macOS, not an Asset Care update.

GET STARTED
Open Filesoft Recurring Tasks_0.1.1.fmp12. Use Load examples if no schedules
are present, then select Monthly inspection. Preview a range before creating.
This download preserves the owner's walkthrough copy: sample tasks may already
be saved. Load examples does not erase them. Read the saved count and preview.
If occurrences 0 through 5 already exist, First occurrence 0 / Count 6 should
show zero to create and six already present. Create missing should skip all six.
To extend that range, set Count 7, Preview range, then Create missing: expect
one created and six skipped, assuming no other sample tasks were added.
Keep a closed backup before experimenting. There is no reset/delete button.

INSPECT THE DESIGN
Schedules stores the fixed schedule, requested range and preview. Tasks stores
TaskKey, ScheduleID, Occurrence, ScheduledDate, AdjustedDeadline, Title and
CreatedAt. TaskKey combines the schedule ID and occurrence ordinal, not the
adjusted deadline. Existing tasks are skipped; they are not rewritten.
The UI scripts are in App > Recurring tasks > UI, and workers in Controller.
Version 0.1.1 refreshes the status object after each button outcome. Earlier
screenshots and the unchanged on-layout label show 0.1.0.

FIVE EXAMPLES
Monthly inspection, Same deadline (another schedule), Leap-day inspection,
Rollback practice, and Date boundary. First occurrence accepts integers 0–1200;
Count accepts integers 1–12. Occurrence 0 is the original anchor.
Test rejected batch is restricted to Rollback practice and requires missing
occurrences. It intentionally violates required-key validation. Expect no
new tasks from that failed batch; inspect the result before a normal retry.

COMPATIBILITY AND EVIDENCE
Designed for FileMaker Pro 19.6.1+; transaction steps require 19.6.1. FileMaker
Pro is not included. Claris tools 26.0.2.219 were used for structural checks.
Owner screenshots on macOS show repeat creation, range extension, six saved
tasks retained in 0.1.1 and the corrected preview footer. They do not prove
all examples, rollback, reopen persistence, minimum-version or hosted behavior.
Windows, FileMaker Go and WebDirect have not been tested.

Fixed schedules only. No reminders, background automation, completion workflow,
schedule revision, multi-user concurrency guarantees or analytics. A failed
validation batch is not a crash-recovery test. Keep the definitions fixed;
changing a schedule must be designed separately before use in a business app.
